Spring Summer 2025 “Not enough” is a collection that pays tribute to the nuances of multicultural identity. With Indian-Kenyan-British roots, the designer addresses the notion of not fully belonging to any one culture, rather, that identity is a blend of experiences, heritages & philosophies. Within this grey area, the aesthetics of the collection draw from not being Indian enough, not Kenyan enough, not British enough… the idea that we are never truly any one pure thing, and that there is deep beauty in that. There is a delicate meeting point within the designer’s cultures and experiences that is celebrated & embraced in each piece. The spirit of the collection has a relaxed streetwear aesthetic, playing within the realm of the brand’s nomadic futurist signature.
With the label’s recent breakthrough in radical alternative & regenerative textiles, this season we present textural banana waste handloom, bold brass embellishment, Nairobi-red-soil fabric dyes and more... The hand-painted Gujarati script reiterate the idea that “not enough” is a beautiful in-between in which to experience life’s dynamism. The LilaBare mantra “made for the mindful” also makes an appearance in Gujarati across a series of laid-back & tactical pieces, elevated with metal disc embroidery. The application of both Indian & Kenyan beadwork and printing techniques adorns gender fluid designs, with a refreshing personal twist.
The entire collection is traceable to source with East African origin.
